CHERYL BISHKOFF -- oboe/English horn/oboe d'amore
is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the New England Conservatory, is the principal oboist of the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the New Hampshire Symphony, the Nashua (NH) Symphony, the Boston Classical Orchestra, and the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra; co-principal oboe of the Bethlehem Bach Festival Orchestra; and also plays regularly with the Boston Symphony. She has also played as acting principal with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Albany Symphony, the Lancaster Festival Orchestra, the Wheeling Symphony, the Virginia Symphony, and others. She is currently the Adjunct Artist of oboe at Vassar College, and was previously Professor of Oboe at West Virginia University. An accomplished recitalist, she frequently appears both as soloist and in chamber music programs, including appearances at the Newport Music Festival, the Bach and Beyond Festival, Bethlehem’s Bach Festival, Valley Vivaldi, the Currier Gallery, and the Weill Recital Hall Chamber Music Series. Ms. Bishkoff maintains a private teaching studio in Rhode Island, and has recorded on the Dorian label.
